Seven Killings — intense pressure that forges strength

Pyeongwan (偏官, 7 Killings) is the Ten God where an element of the same polarity controls the Day Master. Intense pressure and challenge — overcome it and gain formidable power and achievement.

What is Pyeongwan?

Pyeongwan appears when an element with the same Yin/Yang as the Day Master controls it. Also called 'Seven Killings' (七殺). For Jia (Yang Wood) Day Masters, Yang Metal (Geng, 庚) is Pyeongwan. It exerts more intense, impulsive pressure than Direct Officer.

Personality Traits

Strong Pyeongwan individuals have iron willpower, competitive drive, and authority orientation. They endure extreme pressure and often gravitate toward military, law enforcement, or high-authority careers. Without control, impulse and aggression can emerge.

The Importance of Control

Pyeongwan is positively channeled through Food God control (Sikshin Jesa, 食神制殺) or Resource transformation (Salin Sangsaeng, 殺印相生). Uncontrolled Pyeongwan is destructive energy. In women's charts, represents the husband or romantic interest.
